Alongside breakfast, we offer afternoon tea for anyone who fancies something more than a quick cup of tea: home-baked scones, cake, and a proper pot of tea or coffee, served at a real table rather than rushed through on a tray. It’s available to everyone, not just guests staying overnight, and it’s the kind of small, old-fashioned touch that people often mention afterwards, precisely because so few places still do it properly.

What’s included
A pot of tea or coffee, home-baked scones with cream and jam, and a slice of cake or traybake, depending on what’s been baked that day. It’s a genuine home-baking spread rather than a shop-bought approximation, made in the same kitchen that prepares breakfast each morning. How to book
Afternoon tea is available to everyone, whether or not you’re staying at the B&B, and it’s arranged by request rather than booked online. Get in touch through our contact page, let us know you’d like to arrange afternoon tea along with your preferred date and how many people are coming, and we’ll be in touch to organise it with you.
Dietary requirements
If you’re vegetarian, vegan, or need to avoid particular ingredients, let us know when you get in touch and we will do our best to accommodate you, the same as we do for breakfast.
Where it’s served
On a good day, afternoon tea is served outside in the garden, with views over the fields; on a colder or wetter one, it moves inside to sit by the fire. Either way, it’s a genuinely pleasant way to spend an hour.
